THREE men living in Winterbourne have been charged with conspiracy to burgle homes across the South West.
They are among six people arrested in connection with more than a dozen burglaries across the Avon & Somerset and Devon & Cornwall policing areas.
At hearings earlier this year, magistrates remanded in custody two men from Winterbourne, both named Jimmy Gilheaney – one aged 20 and the other 43.
Also appearing in court were two men named Michael McDonagh, one aged 46 and from Hengrove, and the other aged 24 and from Loughton, in Essex. They were also remanded in custody, along with Martin McDonagh, 53, of no fixed address.
At the latest court appearance on March 13, Steven Gilheaney, aged 22, of Winterbourne, was released on bail, with conditions including an overnight curfew and tag. He had been arrested two days earlier in Kent.
All six men are due to appear at Bristol Crown Court on April 10.
