FRAMPTON Festival will return this summer after a year away.
Preparations for the family event are underway, and it is due to take place on July 11 at its traditional venue, Centenary Field in Mill Lane.
Organisers say a combination of donations, sponsorship, advertising and support from Frampton Cotterell Parish Council have enabled the event to return this year.
Committee member Ian Haddrell said: “The organising committee are extremely grateful to all those who have provided funds which allows the festival to take place again.
“We know how popular the festival is with local residents and we are determined to continue providing the annual free event.
“The Festival committee have been working hard since last summer to ensure that popular attractions have been booked.”
Among the events planned are performances from Frampton Cotterell Male Voice Choir, Assembly Banger, The Worthy Voices, local band Brain Fog, Elvis impersonator Mark Knight, Fab Twins, Sweet Heat and headliners Elevation.
There will also be line dancing with Laughter In Line, Johnny G’s puppet and magic show, steam engine and fairground rides.
There will be a selection of stalls including from local organisations and businesses, including face painting, children’s toys and sweets, art, jewellery, physic tarot, Hedgehog Rescue and Frampton Cotterell WI cakes.
Refreshments include an on-site bar selling a range of beers, ciders, wine and lager, and numerous food outlets.
The festival will start at 2pm and finishing at 10pm with the lighting of the parish beacon, followed by a silent firework display.
The committee is on the lookout for extra volunteers to help on the day to ensure that the festival runs smoothly and safely.
Anyone who could spare some time on the Saturday of the festival should contact the festival committee at info@framptonfestival.co.uk.
