ORGANISERS of this year’s Frampton Festival have revealed details of the performers and attractions at this year’s event.
The festival returns to its traditional venue, Centenary Field in Mill Lane, on Saturday July 11, after taking a year away last summer.
Running from 2pm to 10pm, it will include performances from the Zion Church Singers, the Worthy Voices community choir, indie band Brain Frog, an Elvis Presley tribute from Mark Knight, Beatles acoustic covers from Fab Twins, and rock and soul covers from Sweet Heat before local favourites Elevation headline the stage.
There will also be a line dancing demonstration from Laughter in Line that people can join in and a children’s puppet and magic show from Johnny G.
The festival finale will be a beacon lighting ceremony followed by a low-noise firework display.
During the day there will be fairground rides from Rogers’, and steam traction engine rides.
Stalls include face-painting and glitter tattoos, mindful art and workshops, children’s toys and sweets, a caricature artist, bar, hot food, tea coffee and cold drinks.
Local organisations with displays include Frampton Cotterell RFC Juniors, Frampton Cotterell Parish Council, Frampton Cotterell WI, Zion Church and Zeus Explorer Scouts, who are running a tomahawk throwing stand.
The volunteer-run committee is asking visitors to walk to the event, as there is no parking on site, and is also advising people not to bring any glass, including bottles, or BBQs.
“Well-behaved” dogs are welcome, and people are being asked to use bins on site or take their rubbish home with them, to keep the field tidy.
Committee member Ian Haddrell thanked sponsors who had helped ensure the festival can go ahead, including Frampton Cotterell Parish Council, Westerleigh & Coalpit Heath Parish Council, Power Electrics, ETS, Manor Scrap and Parody Portraits.
Volunteers are needed on the day to help out – details are on the festival’s Facebook page – and a donation page is live here.
