BURGLARS took cash from Winterbourne’s Co-op store after breaking in during the middle of the night.
Police say two men, wearing dark clothing and armed with a crowbar, forced their way in to the building shortly before 3am today.
The break-in was reported just after 6.30am, after staff arrived at the store in Dragon Road.
A police spokesperson said “a quantity of cash” was stolen in the burglary by the men, who used a dark moped to get to and from the scene.
House-to-house enquiries
The spokesperson added: “Forensic, CCTV and house-to-house enquiries have been carried out in the area and the investigation is ongoing.”
Police have called on anyone who saw anything in the area at the time, or has CCTV or doorbell footage they think might help their investigation, to call 101 and quote the crime reference number 5225 044 008.
