A WINTERBOURNE man has been charged in connection with violence in Bristol city centre.
Wayne Murray, aged 57, is due to appear at Bristol Magistrates’ Court today to answer a charge of violent disorder.
He was charged by detectives investigating violence in the city centre over several hours on August 3, firstly in Castle Park and then outside a hotel that houses asylum seekers on Redcliff Hill.
Hundreds of anti-immigration protesters were on the streets of the city, faced by anti-racism counter protesters.
Avon & Somerset police have now arrested a total of 45 people in connection with the disorder, with 32 having been charged.
So far, 16 people have been jailed.
Police are asking people to help identify several suspects in their investigation – images can be found here.
