Four teenagers arrested after Winterbourne attempted break-in

POLICE have arrested four teenagers after an attempted break-in at a home in Winterbourne.

Avon & Somerset police said they received a report of an attempt to break into the garage of a house in Huckford Road, where motorbikes were stored, shortly before 1.30am today.

A spokesperson said four people, all male and aged between 16 and 18, were arrested within about half an hour of the report.

They were being held in custody this afternoon.

Sergeant Richard Humphrey said: “The victim reported what happened in the early hours of this morning after a security alarm they had installed was activated.

“Officers were quickly dispatched to the scene and following an area tour arrested four suspects, who are due to be questioned about the incident.

“CCTV enquiries are ongoing.”
